Bafana on the front foot, says Klate

Cape Town - Veteran winger Daine Klate praised Bafana Bafana for taking their FIFA World Cup qualification back in their hands after the 2-1 win over Senegal.

A Thulani Hlatshwayo penalty and a Thulani Serero strike secured the points for Bafana at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Bafana have four points from two games in Group D of the qualifiers after their drawing against Burkina Faso in their opening match.

"I think it was a fantastic result for us. It was very, very important first and foremost to get the three points at home," Klate told KickOff.

"We have to take advantage of these types of games. The fans came out in their numbers and as a team we performed as well.

"I think it puts us on the front foot in the group now going away to Cape Verde Islands in our next game."

Bafana Bafana are set to play Mozambique in an international friendly on Tuesday, November 15.

Kick off is at 19:00 (SA time).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
