Ajax duo withdrawn from Bafana squad

Bafana Bafana will face Mauritania and Egypt without the services of the Ajax Cape Town duo of Rivaldo Coetzee and Prince Nxumalo.

Both players were withdrawn from the squad as they are suffering from chicken pox (Coetzee) and a hamstring injury (Nxumalo).

The Bafana Bafana technical team is currently working on the replacements.

South Africa face Mauritania in their final 2017 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday, 2 September at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

Four days later (Tuesday, 6 September) Bafana Bafana will be back on the field to host Egypt in the 22nd edition of the Nelson Mandela Challenge.

This will take place at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Both matches kick off at 7.05pm.

Bafana Bafana have already assembled for camp and preparations will start in earnest in Nelspruit on Tuesday, 30 August when the team trains at the Kanyamazane Stadium at 10am.

Tickets for the two matches are already on sale and can be purchased at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers countrywide.

Tickets for the Mbombela clash are R50, while to watch the 2016 Nelson Mandela Challenge will cost R80 all-round.
