Cape Town - Bafana Bafana defender Siyanda Xulu will not be joining the squad for upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to injury.
According to the Soccer Laduma website, Xulu was injured playing a relegation playoff game for his Russian club FC Rostov on Thursday night.
Xulu is the third defender to be pulled out of the squad, after coach Gordon Igesund's team was dealt a blow by the exit of Siboniso Gaxa and Tsepo Masilela.
Igesund is reportedly unlikely to replace Xulu, and will stick with the current squad available.
Bafana play a friendly game against Lesotho in Maseru on Sunday, before away World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic (CAR) on June 8 and Ethiopia (June 16).
