Who is Owen Da Gama?

1. Da Gama was a lethal striker in his playing days, a career that took him to Derry City in Ireland and Germinal Beerschot in Belgium.

2. In South Africa he was also a heralded forward with Moroka Swallows.

3. He had two spells in charge of Platinum Stars.

4. In 2007, Da Gama left Dikwena to take over as boss of Orlando Pirates.

5. Da Gama was instrumental as Platinum Stars (then Silver Stars) gained PSL promotion in 2003.

7. In 2006, Da Gama's side won the Telkom Knockout, the club's first piece of major silverware.

8. Da Gama's eye for spotting talent was used when he become one of the Nedbank Ke Yona Team coaches in 2013.
