South Africa face Sudan in their penultimate AFCON 2015 qualifying match in November and SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble is eager to honour Meyiwa's impact at that game.
“Senzo has been taken away from us just as he was showing the nation his potential.
"After years of being patient and waiting in the wings to become South Africa’s number one, he finally got his shot and shined for South Africa, only for the actions of cruel individuals to take that away from us.” said Mumble at a press conference on Monday.
“The most immediate thing we can do in honour of Senzo is to play our AFCON qualifier in Nelspruit in the memory of Senzo Meyiwa,” said SAFA's CEO.
South Africa have an unbeaten record in Nelspruit winning all four of the games played at the stadium in 2010.
A win against Sudan will guarantee Bafana Bafana a place at AFCON 2015. South Africa won the first leg in Sudan 3-0.
Bafana Bafana top Group A with eight points from four games, Congo are second on seven points, Nigeria have four points with Sudan struggling on three points.
