Star duo doubt for Bafana

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana could be without the inspirational pair of May Mahlangu and Tokelo Rantie when they take on Lesotho in a friendly international in Maseru on Sunday.

According to the Football411 website, South Africa will continue their preparations ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June, starting with a training camp in Johannesburg - which begins on Wednesday - followed by the clash against the Crocodiles this weekend.

Gordon Igesund may, however, be forced to mastermind his approach without Mahlangu and Rantie, with the pair representing Helsingborg and Malmo respectively in a crunch Swedish Allsvenskan clash in the middle of the week.

The Bafana duo will therefore only be able to join up with their international team-mates on Thursday, meaning Sunday's encounter could come too soon.

Another South African also still away on club duty is Crystal Palace defender Kagisho Dikgacoi, who is currently gearing up for Monday's Championship play-off final against Watford at Wembley, although he is still expected to play some part this weekend, provided he avoids any serious injury against the Hornets.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
