“Shakes always gave me support while I was there and it is fair for us to give him the support that we can give him,” said Igesund.

According to KickOff.com, the new SuperSport United coach is hopeful that Bafana Bafana, under new mentor Shakes Mashaba, will return home to South Africa with a positive result before facing Nigeria's Super Eagles on September 10 at the Cape Town Stadium.

“We hope and pray that Shakes Mashaba can get a good result." added Igesund.

Gordon Igesund believes Sudan will pose a serious threat and thinks it will be a great result for Bafana Bafana if they can get something out of the game.

Igesund feels that even a point in Sudan will be a decent achievement with GI saying that Bafana Bafana should target a win in the return leg.

Sport24 will have LIVE and interactive commentary of the 2015 AFCON qualifier as South Africa face Sudan in Khartoum.

Bafana will take on Sudan in Khartoum on Friday, September 5 at 19:00 SA time, before hosting Nigeria on Wednesday, September 10 (20:00) at the Cape Town Stadium in their first two 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
