Shakes selects Khune for Bafana

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana national team coach Shakes Mashaba has named a full strength Bafana Bafana squad ahead of their AFCON qualifier against Gambia on Tuesday.

The national team are set to face The Scorpions in Durban on Saturday, June 13 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

According to Bafana Bafana’s official Twitter account, Mashaba has included Tefu Mashamaite and Itumeleng Khune in the squad along with notable surprise such as Thulani Serero, May Mahlangu and Ayanda Patosi.

The squad includes a number of players that did duty in the national side's poor COSAFA Cup campaign with the likes of Marc van Heerden, Gift Motupa, Clayton Daniels and Jackson Mabokgwane handed another chance to show their worth to Mashaba.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 15:00.

Goalkeepers: Jackson Mabokgwane, Itumeleng Khune, Brilliant Khuzwayo

Defenders: Anele Ngcongca, Patrick Phungwayo, Thabo Matlaba, Siyabonga Nhlapho, Tefu Mashamaite, Clayton Daniels, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Rivaldo Coetzee, Marc van Heerden

Midfielders: Andile Jali, Dean Furman, Oupa Manyisa, Bongani Zungu, May Mahlangu, Thulani Serero, Ayanda Patosi, Thuso Phala, Mandla Masango, Mzikayise Mashaba

Strikers: Bonginkosi Ntuli, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Vuyisile Wana, Tokelo Rantie, Gift Motupa
