Cape Town - Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba reiterated his desire to emulate the class of 1996.

According to KickOff, Mashaba reveals that South Africa will not travel to Equatorial Guinea to just make up the numbers.

"We are going to compete. We are not there just to add numbers. We have felt your support," said Mashaba.

"The players we have are of the best quality."

 "We are trying to emulate the success of 1996. There are more than just lessons to be learned."
