According to Soccer Laduma, Barker says that since the AFCON South Africa have not been producing any positive results.

“Results for Shakes have not been positive now since the African Cup of Nations. I think now people will really start to question Shakes’ mandate,” said Barker.

Barker also touched on the COSAFA Cup tournament which Bafana have been knocked out of and questions the purpose of it if the best players are not made available.

“If the COSAFA Cup is meant to help in the development of young players then perhaps it's serving it purpose, however the results of our national team have been a point of concern,” Barker tells the crew.

“However, if a coach does not have his full strength side then what is the point of the tournament. With that said, those called to do the job should do the job for the national team.”

Meanwhile, Bafana open their AFCON qualifying campaign on Saturday, June 13 with Mashaba yet to announce his squad selection.
