Scan clears Bafana's Furman

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana midfielder Dean Furman has discharged from hospital after earlier fears that he might have broken his facial bones.

Furman was taken to hospital after suffering serious facial injuries in the first half of South Africa's World Cup qualifying match against the Central African Republic at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.

It was initially feared that Furman, who had gashes above the eye and on his nose, might have some broken bones, but the scan revealed no complications, and Furman was released to join his team-mates in celebrating their 2-0 victory.
