Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana took another injury knock on Monday after central defender Siyabonga Sangweni was withdrawn from the 23-man squad to face Central African Republic in a World Cup qualifier in Cape Town on Saturday.
Sangweni was ruled out of the match due to a niggling knee injury, Bafana team management announced in a statement.
The defender did not travel with his club, Orlando Pirates, to Lusaka for an African Champions League match against Zambian side Zanaco at the weekend.
Mulomowandao Mathoho, called up to replace Sangweni, was expected to arrive in Cape Town later in the day.
Meanwhile, Tebogo Langerman, called up on Sunday as a replacement for injured defender Tsepo Masilela, had already reported for national team duty.
Supersport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, included in the squad as an additional member in order to train with the national team, was also withdrawn.
Williams was nursing a hamstring injury he sustained in Angola in United's Confederation Cup clash against Petro Luanda last week.
Bafana management said overseas based players Kagisho Dikgacoi, Dean Furman, Anele Ngcongca, Daylon Claasen, and Tokelo Rantie had all linked up with the squad.
May Mahlangu, Dino Ndlovu and Siyanda Xulu had not yet arrived in Cape Town.
