Johannesburg - The South African Football Association will keep under fire coach Gordon Igesund despite the embarrassment suffered by Bafana Bafana at the hands of Brazil, according to a report on the Sowetanlive website.
This year’s 2014 Soccer World Cup hosts, Brazil, set the tone for the upcoming event when they proved too strong for South Africa in their international friendly match at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening, claiming a 5-0 win in Johannesburg.
"The coach has a contract which ends in June. We are working on a four-year cycle from World Cup to World Cup," said SAFA president Danny Jordaan on Thursday.
"Our focus is now on development. We will stage inter-provincial tournaments for the under-17s and under-20s later this month, in April and May," said Jordaan.
