Johannesburg - The South African Football Association (SAFA) has honoured Siboniso Gaxa, Itumeleng Khune, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Bernard Parker and Katlego Mphela, with the five players having recently reached the 50-mark cap milestone for Bafana Bafana.

According to the soccerladuma.co.za website, SAFA presented the players with framed jerseys which were signed by the players, sporting the number 50, at a ceremony held in Durban at the team’s hotel on Sunday, January 20.

SAFA president Kirsten Nematandani told SAFA, “On behalf of SAFA, I would like to say congratulations to these five players and many more that have walked this path. This is a very important milestone and not many get to reach it, and for that all five of you need to be proud of your achievements.”

“Your role in this current Bafana Bafana squad is very crucial in that you are the foundation of this team, and the young ones can learn from you. And to those who are still travelling this road, what we see today shows it can be done only if you put your mind to it.”

Gaxa is on 54 caps, Khune and Dikgacoi on 51, and  Parker and Mphela on 50.
