Johannesburg - Former Bafana coach Ted Dumitru has attempted to play down the upcoming friendly with Ghana on the 11th of August.
The match will be Pitso Mosimane's first game in charge of the national team and the outspoken Romanian is urging South Africans to have realistic view of the outcome.
He believes South Africans are very quick to judge and can't wait for Mosimane to fail, with a successful Bafana very much determined by the backing it receives.
"Some (critics) are just waiting to say Pitso is useless if we were to lose to Ghana," Dumitru told News Time.
"That is why people always say South Africans are unbelievably unrealistic. We have so many negative things and we see even supporters submitting their own starting line-ups. Imagine that."
Dumitru is, however, confident that the new man at the helm will do a good job and has saluted Mosimane's vision for carrying on where Carlos Alberto Parreira had left off.
He added: "The passing has improved, we have an identity and I admire the fact that Pitso wants to continue in the same vein."
