Cape Town - Bafana Bafana forward Tokelo Rantie is hopeful that he will start scoring more goals in national colours and is aiming to begin the international friendly against New Zealand.
Since Rantie's debut for Bafana in 2012, the forward has gone on to score 4 goals in 17 appearances. Rantie admits his goal return is weighing heavily on his mind.
According to the KickOff website, Rantie is eager to impress against the All Whites and to start repaying the faith that coach Gordon Igesund has placed in him. Rantie added that he wants to start showing himself off to supporters of the national team.
Rantie is happy with the progress of the tour so far and is enjoy the squad's preparation ahead of the second and final match on Friday morning.
“For the first time, I feel like I’m part of the guys. This is where I believe that with a young group it is possible to achieve anything you know and I’m looking forward to the game. I know the guys are hungry. Some of the guys received the call up for the first time so obviously they want to impress the coach,” Rantie added.
Bafana Bafana play New Zealand at the MT Smart Stadium in Auckland which has a capacity of 30 000 on Friday evening.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:30 (09:30 SA time).
