Rantie fit and ready for AFCON

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana striker, Tokelo Rantie, has recovered from his injury and will be fit and ready for next year’s African Cup of Nations.

According to soccerladuma.co.za website, Rantie picked up a knee injury while on international duty for Bafana last month after a collision with one of Zambia’s players, and was ruled out for about two to three weeks.

According to Farouk Khan, the player’s mentor at the Stars of Africa Academy, the forward’s injury was not as bad as first thought and the Malmo FF man is already back training.

Khan told the Siya crew, “His injury is fine, he’s already starting to run, it’s perfect. The diagnosis was worse than what it actually is.”

Rantie is currently back with the former Chiefs assistant in his academy as he looks to get himself back to full fitness ahead of the African showpiece that begins in January.

The former Orlando Pirates man has scored two goals in his last four Bafana appearances.
