Popeye, TK earn Furman's praise

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana captain Dean Furman heaped praise on duo Darren Keet and Tokelo Rantie after the draw against Nigeria.

Although beaten twice by Super Eagle Sone Aluko, goalkeeper Darren "Popeye" Keet turned in a fine performance against Nigeria in the national team's final AFCON 2015 qualifier.

Keet made a number of saves in getting South Africa into a decent position to break their Nigerian hoodoo.

Bournemouth striker Tokelo Rantie matched Aluko's effort with a fine brace. Rantie almost netted a late winner and what would have been a memorable hat-trick only for his shot to be saved by Vincent Enyeama.

Bafana Bafana captain and dynamic midfielder Dean Furman, who himself has been in tremendous form for his country, singled out the star duo for praise on Twitter:

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
