Pitso wants more from Bafana

2011-02-10 07:50

Rustenburg - Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane wanted more from his team after they eased to a 2-0 victory over Kenya in a friendly game at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on Wednesday night.

"I'm happy with the score but we could have scored more. I dream of when my team wins 6-0. If we kept composure in the second half there would have been more goals," said Mosimane.

He added that while he was pleased with the performances of some of the new faces in the team, it was unfortunate that he could not play everybody.

SANGWENI IS FULL OF ERRORS - IN A COMPETITIVE MATCH THAT WOULD BE REALLY COSTLY FOR THE TEAM. PITSO WAS VERY CAUTEOUS IN MAKING SUBSTITUTIONS - GIVING MATTY PATTISON ONLY 10 MIN OF GAME TIME WAS BELITTLING OF THE SHORT MAN. PLAYING TWO HARD CENTRE MIDFIELDERS IS NOT REALLY WORKING. ITS MORE LIKE SANTANA PLAYING SIBAYA AND DIKGACOI IN THOSE POSITIONS. PITSO NEEDS TO START GETTING CREATIVE. HE IS JUST PREDICTABLE AND WINNING OVER KENYA IS REALLY NOT SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT BECAUSE A CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE CAN BEAT THEM WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT!

Agree Jose, Parker has been out of form for some time now, i like the idea of grooming new players instead of rellying only on certain players like we did before..and good point when u say not a lot of passing the ball back...which has been a problem in the past...

@bushyyboyy - give your own analysis of the game and stop repeating everything Jose has said.

Congratualation to South Africa for their victory against kenya but I think Pitso should try to rearrange his strikers because they seem to loose their position. Bernard Packer is loosing his position an it cost the whole team. Good choice for including Thulani Serero in your squad.

All the boys were heavy. If you can look at the way Somma was missing, the way Khumalo let the strikers pass, the way Jali was passing incoplete passes.Mayb they over-trained. The likes of Anele and Khune did well.Above all thats a nice results

We gave the ball away far too much and a better team would seriously have hurt us for it. Having said that, I see where Pitso is going with this style of pacey pass and move football...just needs to be more clinical. Also, Anele Ngcongca and Mzivukile Tom did very well to get up the pitch and deliver good crosses into the box. Masilela is still No.1 left back though. This was always a weak point of our play, which I'm glad to see is changing. And now with Somma up front there are definitely more options. Somma's goal was extremely well taken, but his strike rate was quite poor! I hope this improves over time. Regardless, I'm encouraged by the lines he ran and the fact that the midfielders ACTUALLY put in that killer pass to put him through. LOVED IT!!!! Good luck for the Egypt game Bafana...the country (or at least most of us) is supporting you!
