Pitso thanks Baroka FC

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has expressed his gratitude to Nedbank Cup giant killers Baroka FC following a training ground friendly.

The South African national team played a friendly against Baroka on Saturday in Rustenburg as part of their preparations for the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt.

Bafana Bafana won the encounter 5-0 over 120 minutes and Mosimane says Baroka gave his side a tough workout.

"We had a training match against Baroka and they are a good team as we all know that.

"It was a good match and they are full of energy, lots of counter attacks - a very good team.

"What I saw of them on TV is what I saw at the training match. They are really a good team.

"We want to thank them for giving us the friendly match."

Despite the absence of two regulars in Bongani Khumalo and Thanduyise Khuboni for the trip, 'Jingles' believes Bafana Bafana will be able to cope on the road.

"I think we have equally talented replacements so it won't be a problem," Mosimane added.

"We are looking forward to this big game, which will be highly tactical.

"We must play smart and play our normal game, which is not easy. I believe we can win. Why not?

"Logistically, this trip will be easier than the one we took to Sierra Leone so things are looking positive for us already.

"I always say the most important thing for us is to come back still being top of the group. There is more to come from my team, I believe so."
