Johannesburg - Pitso Mosimane punched his fist in the air after recording his second consecutive win as Bafana Bafana boss, but admitted there were flaws in the side's attacking unit against Niger.
South Africa dominated the encounter against the West African minnows on Saturday night, but only ran out 2-0 winners. The scoreline heavily flattered the visitors, who lack any bite going forward and were a disaster at the back.
Steven Pienaar was allowed the freedom of the park along with Siphiwe Tshabalala, while a plethora of chances were presented to strikers Katlego Mphela and Bernard Parker.
Niger coach Harowna Doulla seemed in awe of Bafana's firepower admitting: "The South African players are very skillful and you could see that we were outplayed in midfield, because they are just too skillful."
But Mosimane revealed his key players didn't come to the party often enough in front of goal - a conclusion which was made by Football365.co.za directly after the game.
"It's strange," said the coach, commenting on the easy chances that were not converted by Bafana.
"The second goal by Bernard Parker was a brilliant one. It was a very difficult execution. But we can't finish the easy ones. In the training sessions we worked on finishing, finishing, finishing.
"But we have to be patient - a little bit of maturity and experience is needed."
While victory over Niger was a good start to Bafana's qualifying campaign, it was not a great start. With defending champions Egypt set to tackle the national team in March next after South Africa's date with Sierra Leone, the group may just be decided on "finishing, finishing, finishing".
