Johannesburg - Pitso Mosimane believes the win over Ghana is the perfect platform to build a more competitive Bafana Bafana line-up and he is happy to see big-name players featuring for their European clubs.
Mosimane and the 2010 World Cup hosts get the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign under way on Saturday when they face Niger in Nelspruit and the new coach is confident his charges can improve on their last outing, a 1-0 win over the Black Stars.
"This match is a continuation of where we left off against Ghana...we are going to analyse and fix the mistakes of the last match, and at the same time we need to improve and intensify what was good in the previous game," said Mosimane.
Four stars who ply their trade in Europe - Steven Pienaar, Daylon Claasen, Anele Ngcongca and Bernard Parker - missed Monday afternoon's training session but 'Jingles' is happy to see most of the foreign-based contingent getting game time with their clubs.
"We know about the activity of our players here at home and abroad, we know who has played and who hasn't played," he Mosimane.
"Of the seven overseas-based players that we called up, four of them played 90 minutes for their clubs, two were substituted while one was on the bench - for me that is good enough; we need our players to play as much as possible because we don't have enough time with them in the national team.
"Now is not the time to press panic buttons about those who are not playing because most leagues around the world have just kicked off, and we just need to support our players. Obviously if that continues then we have to assess the situation and make decisions," he added.
