Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana saw their hopes of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA Soccer World Cup finals disappear in front of them after losing 2-1 to Ethiopia in a crucial CAF Group A qualifier.

Bernard Parker, who put South Africa 1-0 up before the hosts equalised, netted an own goal in the second half, which gifted the East Africans the win.

“I don't know what to say. It is really very sad for me and for the whole team. It was an unfortunate situation for me. But I thank the support from my team-mates in this tough times. It is very sad,” the Kaizer Chiefs striker concluded.
