Ngcongca named in Genk's Team of the Century

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana defender Anele Ngcongca has been named in Racing Genk's Team of the Century by Voetbalkrant.

Ngcongca was honoured with the inclusion when the Dutch publication named it's stellar lineup of Racing Genk stars from the past century.

Currently in camp with the national team ahead of the Bafana Bafana clash against Gambia, Ngcongca made the team and is the only player in the current side with that honour.

Only two outfield players played more minutes in the league than Ngcongca this season.

Ngcongca's inclusion sees him "line up" alongside star international players like Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea), Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg), Christian Benteke (Aston Villa) and Ivory Coast midfielder Didier Zokara.

The right back signed for the Belgian club in 2007.

Genk Team of the Century as voted by Voetbalkrant:

Thibaut Courtois, Sebastien Pocognoli, Joao Carlos, Eric Matoukou, Anele Ngcongca, Josip Skoko, Didier Zokora, Kevin De Bruyne, Mirsad Beslija, Christian Benteke, Wesley Sonck

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
