The striker was overlooked by coach Pitso Mosimane for the friendly against Kenya on Wednesday evening at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
The 27-year-old was not surprised when he heard the news and plans to buckle down and force his way back into the reckoning for Bafana.
"Being dropped does not scare me the coaches decision was based on the fact that I was not playing regularly for Chiefs, and my performances were not up to standard it was on based on my form and I accept it," Ngcobo told Chiefs' official website.
"I am aware that for me to get back into the national team I need continue playing as I have in my last couple of games, scoring goals setting up goals and just being a good contributor.
"I feel that I have taken some steps in that direction and if I continue to improve I believe that will increase my chances of playing against Egypt (in an AFCON qualifier on March 26)."
Meanwhile, Ngcobo praised his Amakhosi strike partner Knowledge Musona for being named the PSL Player of the Month for December/January.
"I am very happy for Knowledge he has done well for the team, he is overcoming injury at the moment and we look forward to welcoming him back, hopefully we can support him in getting more goals," he concluded.
