New shades for coach Igesund

Cape Town - Eyewear giants Oakley have joined forces with Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund to help him keep an eye on events both on and off the field. The sponsorship will see Igesund wearing Oakley prescription spectacles and sunglasses as he moulds the national team.

Seth Hulley, Oakley Sports Marketing Manager, says it’s a privilege for Oakley to have another high-profile ambassador attached to the brand.

"Gordon is a highly-respected personality, not only in the soccer fraternity but the sporting world. Whether researching Bafana’s next opponents, training the squad or watching from the sidelines during matches, he spends a lot of time in the sun. I'm happy to have him in the best eyewear that will protect his eyes - both indoors and outdoors - through the use of Oakley sunglasses and prescription eyewear."

Igesund will initially wear the Oakley Crosshair and Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ models, with more in the pipeline.

David Brooke, Commercial Manager at Prosport International, is delighted to see Igesund join an elite list of Oakley ambassadors.

“Historically, some of South Africa’s top sportsmen and women have worn Oakley eyewear, and the addition of the Bafana Bafana coach to that prestigious list is fantastic,” he says.
