Johannesburg - Katlego Mphela's business manager Glyn Binkin has revealed his client's career will not be placed on hold following a charge of drunk driving.
The Bafana Bafana striker was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning after celebrating his winner against Egypt, which he netted in the final minute at Ellis Park on Saturday night.
'Killer' has since insisted he was mistreated by the police, who failed to read him his rights and seemed "hell-bent" on putting him behind bars.
Mphela admitted he indulged in a "couple of drinks," but maintained he was fine to drive and was far from drunk.
However, it is not a case of whether the forward was intoxicated, but rather if he was over the legal limit or not.
Binkin told EWN: "Obviously his football career resumes as normal. He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and he had a couple of drinks when he was caught in the evening.
"But once again, he was well within the limits. The course of law will take its toll and we'll see over the next couple of months what transpires."
The case will be heard in May and Mphela is currently out on R1 000 bail.
