'Shabba' was made aware of his inclusion in the top ten list for the Puskás Award last week and Chiefs founder and chairman Motaung is calling on the country to get behind the left winger.
'Whilst I give credit to the whole national team, I would like to congratulate Siphiwe Tshabalala whose goal in the FIFA 2010 World Cup has won him a goal of the year nomination,' he wrote in his column on the Amakhosi website.
'I am certain that we shall all rally behind his achievements with votes considering that he made history as the first South African to score the first goal in the first match that opened an event that was hosted for the first time on African soil.
'Surely he deserves our unwavering support throughout the voting and crowning process!'
