Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana midfielder Teko Modise says that it won't be the end of the world if he doesn't secure a move abroad.
The Orlando Pirates star has recently been linked with a move to a German Bundesliga side along with national teammate Itumeleng Khune.
But while the former SuperSport United man refused to reveal the identity of the club, he confirmed that they had made contact with the Buccaneers over a proposed move.
"For now, I don't really want to comment because I don't know too much about it," he told
The Citizen.
"I've heard that a club in Germany is interested but at the moment that's all I can say.
"The only person who really knows what is happening is my coach at Pirates."
But while the 27-year-old admitted that a move overseas would be a dream come true, he said all would not be lost if nothing materialised.
"It's every players' ambition to go overseas but if it doesn't happen then I'm happy to stay here and try to do my best.
"I see myself playing for the national team at the World Cup in 2014 so there are bigger things than just moving abroad.
"We saw that playing in Europe doesn't necessarily mean you will be in the Bafana team but I'm going to work hard and see what happens."
Modise has struggled for form over the past 18 months and had an average World Cup campaign, but he says he was satisfied with his showing.
"We played as a team and I think I did my part.
"We were aiming to get through to the second round but it didn't happen. As a player, I have learnt a lot from that and I have grown mentally from the experience."
Modise also expressed his delight at the appointment of Pitso Mosimane as the new Bafana boss.
"Pitso's a very ambitious coach and the players want to play for him and work hard. We need some continuity so I'm happy that he was given the job."
