Modise: We can do it

2012-10-16 10:12

Bafana Bafana midfielder Teko Modise came on as a second-half substitute in South Africa’s 1-0 loss to Poland in an international friendly, in Warsaw, last week Friday.

Tonight Bafana will be taking on Kenya, at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, and the Mamelodi Sundowns man is confident that they will come out of East Africa with a result.

The playmaker believes that with the quality available to coach Gordon Igesund, there is no doubt that they will be victorious in Nairobi. He said that they need to express their fighting spirit in order to win the encounter.

"We need to fight throughout the game. We have always done it and at times luck is not on our side, but tonight, I know we can do it. We have the squad that can do it and if we play the way we know we can play, then we can win tonight.

“We believe in each other and we will fight for our team and our country. We can do it, I tell you," Modise expressed.

The state of our game is epitomised by the fact that we still have to call on the average Teko Modise. As long as our football net is confined to Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns...we'll continue to struggle.

Our players are to spoilt, they play for a big local club and feel like they've conquered the worlds best. Thats why many run back when things get rough in europe cos its easier back home. The rest of the african stars make it cos they have more obstacles to overcome, both at home and abroad. But I WILL CONTINUE TO BACK MY NATIONAL TEAM?GOOD LUCK BOYS
