Minister wishes Bafana well

Johannesburg - Sport and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula paid a surprise visit to the South African national team at their base camp in Rustenburg on Tuesday.

Mbalula wished the team luck ahead of their friendly international against Kenya at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday night.

"I am here just to wish you guys well when you play Kenya tomorrow (Wednesday) night, and I am looking forward to a very good match," Mbalula told the players.

"I remember very well that in your last match against the USA in Cape Town [in November] you should have won [they lost 1-0] but I am almost certain that we have learnt a lot from that encounter and against Kenya we will come out tops.

"I just hope South Africans will come in their numbers to support you. I wish you all of the best."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
