According to Soccer Laduma, Mashaba admits that the outside world has no faith in South Africa advancing from Group C which contains some of Africa's strongest nations, in Ghana, Senegal and Algeria.
“I indicated (that) people say this is the group of death, but up to this far nobody is sure,” said Mashaba.
“But I know calculations have been made already from the outside world and we’re not counted.
"I know people are talking of Algeria and Senegal and that those are the two teams that could go forward. But according to our planning, we want to be in the next round.”
The former Under-20 and Under-23 coach is a confident mentor as he strongly believes his team will advance to the knockout rounds in Equatorial Guinea.
"We don’t know who’s going to join us. We are not going to join people, we don’t know who’s going to join us going there. That’s what we’re looking at. We want to win the cup,” said Mashaba.
