Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Makola has been called up to the Bafana Bafana team that will face Mauritania next month, and the player says it's a great honour to be part of the national team.
Makola told Sport24 that every player wants to play for their country, and he is happy that the chance is coming to him.
"It's a great honour," the former Free State Stars midfielder explained.
“We all want to be part of the national team and this is my chance.
“I think the coaches have been watching my games and they are giving me the chance to play for my country.
“If given the chance to play I will do my best to help the team.”
In just thirty minutes of PSL football, Makola showed his ability this week when he scored two goals as a second half substitute against Chippa United in Pirates’ 4-1 win.
Makola featured in 25 PSL games last season, scoring three times.
