Johannesburg - Itumeleng Khune believes Bafana Bafana are capable of breaking Niger's impressive home record in Sunday's vital 2012 AFCON qualifier in Niamey.
South Africa currently top Group G and are two points clear, but Mena boast an impressive home record at the General Seyni Kountche Stadium, last losing on June 14, 2008 against Benin (2-0).
Yet Khune, who along with Ugandan opposite number Denis Onyango are yet to concede in these qualifiers, is confident Pitso Mosimane's men can tame the home side in their own backyard.
"We are well aware Niger are still unbeaten at home but there is always the first time in life. We are going there for a win," the Kaizer Chiefs shotstopper told the Sowetan.
"The plan is to finish the qualifiers without conceding and we are working hard to be competitive in all departments. Our aim is to come back from Niger still on top of the log,"
Meanwhile, Niger coach Harouna Doula, still rates his side's chances against the world's 49th-ranked outfit from down South.
"We are gaining in confidence after our performance against Egypt (winning 1-0 at home). I think the guys are now starting to believe in themselves. Now we do not fear any team," Doula said.
