Khumalo: Dream come true

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana defender Bongani Khumalo has expressed his delight at joining English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old concluded a pre-contract agreement with the Champions League side on Tuesday and he is now set to move to White Hart Lane when the transfer window reopens in January.

The former Pretoria University ace underwent a trial at Spurs at the end of August and the defender admits that he was confident that he had impressed enough to earn a deal.

"I'm happy and my move to England is like a dream come true," Khumalo told the Sowetan.

"I have been positive about my chances after attending trials at Tottenham Hotspur. I knew that I did enough to impress."

Khumalo said he was relishing the chance to work with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.

"It will be a great feeling to work under a respected manager like Harry Redknapp and I'm looking forward to the new environment.

"But for now I will continue to give my best at United. The latest developments will not distract my attention at my club," he said.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
