Johannesburg - Irvin Khoza says the Premier Soccer League will support national team boss Pitso Mosimane.

Mosimane faces his first competitive test on Saturday when Bafana Bafana face Niger in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and Khoza, who is the PSL chairperson, has vowed to help "Jingles" with his project.

"It is positive for the country because we have a passionate coach and we are making sure we give him all the necessary support," said the 'Iron Duke'.

"We must give him the support for him to succeed. It is in our interests that Bafana Bafana do well and we must help each other to make sure we stamp the authority in this continent. It is very important and the coach of the national team coach has the PSL's full support," he added.

Meanwhile, Khoza says he is still waiting for the media to compliment the league after congesting the fixtures to allow Bafana Bafana enough time to prepare for the World Cup.

"The PSL has responded positively to the engagements of the national team. I'm still waiting for the media to compliment the PSL for the gesture made by reducing the league programme by two to three months to give Bafana Bafana a chance to increase their time of preparing for the World Cup. No-one has said anything about it. We have been very cooperative at all times when things are done within reason," he said.

"In fact, Mosimane has spent time at the PSL offices and asked about the fixtures. We changed six of them to accommodate his request in terms of his programme, so we are very supportive of the national team," he concluded.
