Jordaan sets the record straight

Cape Town - South African Football Association president, Danny Jordaan reveals that “nothing will suffer” following his appointment as mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

According to Soccer Laduma, Jordaan admits that he does not receive any remuneration from SAFA.

“I'm not employed by SAFA, I don't get paid by SAFA,” said Jordaan.

“Those calling for me to resign, the political parties are being disingenuous.”

News24 reported that opposition parties have not been very receptive to the announcement and that the likes of EFF, Cope and the DA have want Jordaan to step down as SAFA president if he is going to proceed with his mayoral post.

However, Jordaan insist that he will remain in both positions because he does not see himself becoming overwhelmed.

“Nothing will suffer. If the World Cup wasn't overwhelming, nothing will overwhelm me,” concluded Jordaan.
