Cape Town - After turning in a man of the match performance against Nigeria, midfielder Andile Jali is confident that better performances will come from the national side but only in time.
As it happended: Bafana Bafana v Nigeria
Jali, who now plays for K.V. Oostende in Belgium, starred in the midfield alongside Dean Furman in the clash against Nigeria. The midfielder heaped praise on the Mother City crowd and was quick to highlight the fans impact on the team.
Bafana Bafana have now amassed four points from a possible six as they look to qualify for the 2015 edition of the African Cup of Nations. Jali was cautious in his post match review of the game and asked the fans for extra time for things to go from good to great.
"Give us time,” said the former Orlando Pirates midfielder.
“The players are new and we are trying to find our combinations – we got it at points against Nigeria and we had it in the last game (against Sudan).
“Just give us a chance."
“Be patient with us and we will make the supporters happy.” vowed Jali.
“The fans came in their numbers to Cape Town and I want to say thank you.
“We knew that if the stadium was full we would play the way the supporters wanted us to play."
