Bafana and the Super Eagles shared the spoils in an exciting 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Cape Town Stadium.
The former Orlando Pirates man suggested the South African football fraternity did not give them a chance heading to their ninth meeting with the reigning African champions.
“Everyone in the country didn’t give us a chance heading to the game against Nigeria,” Jali said.
“We had poor comments from the fans despite our win against Sudan.
“But I was happy with to see them coming in numbers to the stadium.
“What we did on the field of play tonight (Wednesday) was because of them.
“I also want to thank my team-mates for the fighting spirit and commitment.
“The coach told us that we need to fight in each and every game we play.
“We need to win because our main target is to qualify for next years’ AFCON.”
"Gattuso"'s tremendous performance won him the man of the match accolade on the night, pocketing R10 000.
Bafana
will face Congo Brazzaville in their next AFCON qualifier away from home on October 11.
