Cape Town - A host of Africa's finest players were not included in a below-strength Ivory Coast squad named to face South Africa.
Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard has announced his 20-man squad for Nelson Mandela Challenge match against Bafana Bafana according to safa.net.
Restricted by the match being played out of the international dates set by FIFA, Renard was forced to leave out his star names.
Missing from Renard's squad are several leading players who continue to make headlines across Europe including Yaya Toure (Manchester City), Kolo Toure (Liverpool), Boubacar Barry (Lokeren, Belgium), Salomon Kalou (Hertha Berlin) Serge Aurier (Toulouse), Gervinho (AS Roma), Wilfried Bony (Swansea City) and Cheick Tiote (Newcastle United).
The match will be played at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, November 30. Kick-off is at 15:00.
