Igesund still out in the cold

Johannesburg - Current Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has revealed that he has yet to decide on his future as he has yet to receive any coaching opportunities.

Kickoff's website reports that despite being told by SAFA in the beginning of June that his contract would not be renewed, his agent, Mike Makaab says he has not been approached by anyone regarding Igesund's availability.

Makaab went onto say that they are open to any offer, should they be approached.

Igesund's contract with SAFA is due to expire at the end of August, leaving behind a chequered record with the national team.

The former Moroka Swallows mentor guided Bafana to the quarter-finals of AFCON in 2013 on home soil, while failing to qualify from their group a year later in the CHAN tournament, which was also hosted in South Africa.

Igesund took over from Pitso Mosimane in 2012 in the hopes of reviving Bafana's ailing SWC 2014 qualifying campaign, but despite winning three out of his four qualifying matches, Bafana failed to make it out of their group.

SAFA are set to name Igesund's successor in a media briefing in Soweto on Saturday following the conclusion of the Carling Black Label Cup between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
