Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana will play the Central Africa Republic (CAR) in Cameroon, being a neutral venue, in a FIFA World Cup qualifier next month, with coach Gordon Igesund indicating that the pitch is in a good condition.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Igesund explained that team manger Barney Kujane is in Cameroon where he has assessed the state of the field at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in the Cameroonian capital, Yaoundé.
"I have been told that the stadium we are going to use is in good condition and that the size will suit our playing style. We have to win this CAR game so that we close the gap on Ethiopia. First we have to concentrate on the CAR game, then after getting the desired results there, then we can think of Ethiopia.
"We are playing at a natural venue and that works in our favour. We could not have gone to a country where our soldiers died and play well and also they threatened us after losing 2-0 in Cape Town. So things are looking positive for us in Cameroon," Igesund concluded.
