Decision disappoints Igesund

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund says he is deeply disappointed with SAFA's decision not to extend his contract.

SAFA told Igesund on Monday afternoon that his contract, which is set to expire in August, would not be renewed.

The announcement on Igesund's future with Bafana was made by SAFA president, Danny Jordaaan, at a press conference at SAFA house in Johannesburg.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Igesund said it has been a distinct privilege and honour to be the South African team coach for the last two years.

He said it was the highlight of his career, but that he was deeply disappointed by SAFA’s decision not to renew his contract.
