Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund says that he still has a lot of work to do with the team despite their 2-0 win over Mozambique on Tuesday.
South Africa came into the game off of a 1-0 defeat away to Brazil, but Igesund did not have to wait long for his first win in charge of the team as they saw off the Mambas thanks to a brace from Bernard Parker.
"It was a difficult game. We travelled through four time zones, you know, the bodies of the players were tired tonight(Tuesday)," he said.
"I'm satisfied, we did ok. we weren't great tonight. We kept the ball, our passing and movement (was good), we still gave the ball away too much.
"But I can't expect more after four days of training. I'm happy with the attitude, I'm happy that we won the game and I was also able to throw in a couple of young players in there to give them a chance.
"We've got a lot of work to do still. When we keep the ball, we've got to turn it into a quick attack. At the end of the day, we've played two games and it's something to build on. We've really got a lot of work to do.
"I don't think we've turned the corner, but we're on the right track. Come the African Cup of Nations we want to be a machine, we want to go out there and be a machine."
