Gyan wary of Siphiwe threat

Johannesburg - Ghana superstar Asamoah Gyan has warned his team-mates to beware the lethal left foot of Siphiwe Tshabalala on Wednesday.

The Black Stars tackle Bafana Bafana at Soccer City - the venue where 'Shabba' netted the first goal of the 2010 World Cup.

And Gyan, who watched the Kaizer Chiefs winger closely during the tournament, believes he is South Africa's dangerman.

"He is one of the best players in the South Africa team," said the Rennes ace.

"Technically he is fast he knows how to handle the ball, he is the main man for me. He is the one who has been creating all the chances for them we have to watch out on Wednesday for him."

Gyan may be on to something as Tshabalala has already scored four goals for the national team in 2010.

But the Black Stars are not preparing to bow down to Bafana or Shabba at Soccer City, a venue which holds bittersweet memories for them.

Uruguay denied Ghana a place in the semi-finals at the picturesque stadium, after Gyan failed to punish a Luis Suarez handball from the penalty spot in the dying minutes of the match.

The Africans went on to lose the ensuing shootout. Gyan explained: "Me coming back to Soccer City reminds me of a sad personal moment but the World Cup is overt and I am concentrating on the future.

"We are not coming to fight but we going to make sure we give South Africa a good competitive match," he concluded.
