Johannesburg - Former Bafana star Stanton Fredericks backs Pitso Mosimane to maintain South Africa's steady rise up the FIFA rankings.
Fredericks, who suffered Telkom Knockout elimination with BidVest Wits on the weekend, is impressed with South Africa's recent jump from 58 to 52 in the rankings and believes Mosimane will continue to impress.
"There was a stage when we hit rock bottom and got depressed every time FIFA released the rankings. But Pitso has got the train going in the right direction," Fredericks told The Times.
"There will be problems and challenges but for now, Pitso is the man and we must stick with him through thick and thin," added the 14-cap veteran.
The national team are currently bidding to qualify for the 2012 AFCON and are unbeaten in Group G after toppling Niger 2-0 and securing a creditable away point in Sierra Leone earlier this month.
After a friendly with USA in November, Bafana's next AFCON qualifier is against visiting champions Egypt on 26 March.
