Johannesburg - Thembinkosi "Terror" Fanteni's 19-month wait to get a Bafana Bafana call-up ended after he was drafted into the squad to face Kenya in a friendly on Wednesday night as a replacement for Kermit Erasmus.
The Ajax Cape Town striker, who has netted nine times in all competitions this season, has not represented the national team since the 2-0 win over New Zealand in the 2009 Confederations Cup.
But after Erasmus picked up a respiratory tract infection, Fanteni will have the chance to pull on the yellow and green jersey again - at the same venue he last had the opportunity to - Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
"I'm sorry for Kermit. It is really unfortunate that he can't be with us on this camp as these are the kinds of matches where young players like him need to be introduced," Mosimane said.
Fanteni and Belgium-based Anele Ngcongca were expected to link up with the squad on Monday evening.
