Erasmus focusing on Bafana

Johannesburg - SuperSport United striker Kermit Erasmus has put any further trials in Europe on hold as he looks to return to the Bafana Bafana set-up.

According to the Football411.com website, the 22-year-old joined Matsatsantsa from Feyenoord in 2010, but has spent much of his time looking to impress at overseas clubs, most recently going on trial with Norwegian club Valerenga.

However, his stints abroad have so far proved fruitless, and the four-time Bafana representative is now looking to settle down with SuperSport and get his international career on track.

"Kermit has one more season on his contract at SuperSport after this and decided now to settle down in South Africa for that time and try and focus on getting back into the Bafana side," Erasmus' agent Rob Moore told SuperSport.

"Only once he is back in the national side will we worry about trying to go overseas again.

"He is the best finisher in South African football but it is now a question of getting his profile up again."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
