Egypt v SA venue confirmed

Johannesburg - The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations clash between South African and Egypt will be played at the Cairo Military Academy Stadium. According to the Egyptian Football Association kick-off for the match is 20h30.

The 22 000-seater stadium was one of the six venues used for the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Egypt. It is situated about 12 kilometers from the Cairo International Stadium in the north-eastern Heliopolis district of Cairo.

The ground was built in 1989 for the use of military teams and students at the military academy. It accommodated the home games of Al Ahly and Zamalek during the refurbishing of the Cairo International Stadium and occasionally still serves to stage matches of the two rivals.

Meanwhile England-based striker Davide Somma is the latest player to report for national team duty. He arrived in camp on Tuesday.
