Diouf 'impressed' with Bafana
Johannesburg - Senegal interim coach Sega Karim Diouf couldn't help but sound
condescending in his appraisal of Bafana following Wednesday night's 0-0
draw in Durban.
Diouf brought a very young side to South Africa with a number of
their big-name players having pulled out ahead of the international
And despite creating numerous chances, Pitso Mosimane's team failed to break down the Teranga Lions.
After the match, Diouf, who is tasked with rebuilding his side
following a disappointing AFCON 2012, said he was impressed with their
opponents on the night.
He said: "We trying to build this team again. I thought South
Africa played well, they were very strong tactically. I admire they way
they fought and the manner in which they tried to win the ball back.
"I was particularly impressed with Steven Pienaar and Punch Masenamela."
